Senior Commercial Property Solicitor (WHN)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in handling complex commercial property transactions and will be capable of providing strategic advice to clients, leading projects, and managing junior members of the team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a broad range of complex commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development, and property finance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic legal advice on high-value transactions and property matters.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of commercial contracts, leases, agreements, and other legal documents related to property matters.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior solicitors, paralegals, and support staff within the team.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence, including reviewing titles, leases, planning permissions, environmental reports, and other key documentation.
  • Negotiate with opposing solicitors and other parties to resolve issues and finalize transactions.
  • Manage and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, focusing on delivering exceptional service and business development.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including networking, client presentations, and marketing the firm’s commercial property services.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in property law, legislation, and best practices to ensure the team provides accurate and current legal advice.
  • Report directly to the head of the property department and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 6+ years PQE in commercial property law.
  • Proven track record of handling high-value and complex commercial property transactions.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Commercial awareness with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload independently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to business development and a desire to contribute to the growth of the department.

Desirable:

  • Existing client following or strong connections within the commercial property sector.
  • Experience with large-scale developments or specific sectors (e.g., retail, industrial, or office properties).
